First of all, to get married it's a love act, but there's a large amount of essential documentation that you need to have in order to formalise your situation. It's not enough to say “yes, I want”, because you must do several procedures compulsorily, as if you decide to get married by the church as by the civil way. Of course, the documentation needed it's different. If one has all it's needed and follows properly the necessary steps, there won't be any problem, all will go smooth as silk and immediately you will be a perfect couple.

In order to get married by church you need the following documents:

Certificate of birth, that it must be ask for in the register of births of your birth place.

Certrificate of baptism, that you must ask for it in the church where took place you baptism.

Certificate of census, that you can get it in the city council.

Newly-weds' D.N.I. copy jointly with the original ones because they must be collate.

Certificate of civil status where it's write down the actual civil state. The certificate of celibacy is only needed when one newly-wed belongs to a different diocese or when he or she has spent more of a yeaar in a foreign country.

Premarital course voucher. This course is free and it's given by chaplains, experiencied couples, doctors or  even personal specialized in concrete issues related to the couple world. It has not a specific duration, it depends on each parish church.
